The business started with Dillon, who began his entrepreneurial journey at 14 years old selling candles at local farmers markets. That early experience sparked a long-term interest in building something hands-on, customer-focused, and sustainable.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when furniture stores were backlogged and delivery timelines stretched for months, Dillon saw a gap. People needed comfortable furniture now, not later. He began sourcing and refurbishing sectional couches locally, learning firsthand what actually held up, what didn't, and what customers cared about once the couch was in their home- not just in photos.

As demand grew, the business evolved. Dillon moved into overstock and open-box furniture, refining the process and narrowing in on the types of sectionals people consistently chose and kept. Over time, that experience shaped what The Couch Dude is today: a small, curated operation focused on brand-new, in-box sectionals that are proven, comfortable, and ready to deliver.

Since officially launching in 2021, The Couch Dude has helped hundreds of customers furnish their homes with confidence.
